SUMMARY:Reading | What is feminist sex like – and is it always good?
DESCRIPTION:BiBerlin e.V. invites you to a reading by authors Cleo Libro and Dr. Stephanie Kossow\, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A at Metis Books & Café! \nWe at the Bi+ Competence Centre are looking forward to an inspiring evening with you\, our community\, and the authors Dr. Stephanie Kossow and Cleo Libro. The two authors will be reading from their books „Radikal Intim – Wissen über Körper und Konsens für alle Beziehungsformen“ and „Gleichstellung – Ein feministischer Selbstversuch“. \nIn the panel discussion that follows\, we’ll hear their perspectives on the following topics\, amongst others\, before you have the chance to ask the authors your own questions or suggest topics for discussion during the Q&A. \n\nAre we already on an equal footing in bed?\nHow sexually liberated can we be in a sex-negative society?\nHow can kink\, consent and emotional connection enrich sexuality?\nTo what extent are gender expectations and sexual identity linked? What does this mean for all Bi+ people?\nIs feminist sex always good?\n\nPlaces are limited\, so please register by booking a free ticket and arrive on time so as not to disrupt the reading. Please also remember to return your ticket if you are unable to attend\, so that we can pass your place on to someone on the waiting list. \nWould you like to support the authors\, our association or the bookshop? Follow us via the social media links. Both books can be purchased on the spot at Metis Books and Café! \nThe panel will be moderated by Lea Holzfurtner (she/her)\, a clinical sexologist and board member of BiBerlin e.V. \nMetis Books & Café in Prenzlauer Berg: a queer\, multilingual bookshop with a café run by Darío and Bruno (he/him). \nFeel free to come hungry – at Metis you can buy\, amongst other things\, wonderful homemade focaccia and fantastic coffee creations. (Note from the person typing this event description: You absolutely must try the Shakerato coffee!!) \nEntry to the reading is free – but we’re always grateful for a donation to the charity! \nDoors open at 6.30 pm for a relaxed arrival and a chance to get to know each other\, and the reading starts at 7.00 pm. \nAccess via a portable ramp is easily arranged by a member of staff managing entry at the door. Unfortunately\, there are no toilets suitable for people with mobility impairments. We apologise for this. \nThe event will be held in German. \nAnd now to the wonderful authors: \n \nDr Stephanie Kossow is a specialist in general medicine\, specialising in sexual medicine and depth psychology-based psychotherapy. She is regarded as one of the leading voices in feminist sexual medicine and is committed to both the prevention of physical illness and the promotion of mental and sexual health. As an experienced speaker\, she shares her knowledge in the fields of sexual medicine and therapeutic approaches. In her book published by divana Verlag\, Dr Kossow draws on her perspective as a white cis woman\, mother of two sons and partner in various relationship set-ups – but above all from her professional role as a healthcare professional: What does BDSM have to do with world peace? In „Radikal Intim – Wissen über Körper und Konsens für alle Beziehungsformen“\, you’ll find a feminist guide that offers a fresh perspective on relationships\, pleasure and sexual health. \nhttps://stephanie-kossow.de/ \n \nCleo Libro (she/her) is an author\, feminist and podcast host. Cleo studied linguistics and German language and literature in Cologne and now lives in Berlin. Since 2018\, she has been speaking and writing under a pseudonym about alternatives to monogamous relationships\, sexual self-determination\, questions about having children\, and everything that contributes to the pleasures and frustrations of a promiscuous woman as she moves deeper into her thirties. Since 2022\, Cleo has been publishing her thoughts and research on SPIEGEL Online\, Tagesspiegel\, annabelle\, as well as in WELT Lifestyle\, SZ Magazine and on Deutschlandfunk Nova. In her non-fiction debut\, she explores sex between desire and reality. In her book „Gleichstellung – Ein feministischer Selbstversuch“\, she asks – on behalf of many women – just how feminist her sex life really is and what still needs to happen so that there is finally more pleasure than frustration in the bedroom. \nCleographie
