Awareness
It is important to us to create a space that is as free of discrimination as possible. We have therefore developed awareness rules for our events.

Code of Conduct at BiBerlin Events
- Awareness and well-being are a shared responsibility. We all contribute to creating a respectful and supportive environment.
- During introductions, we share our names and pronouns. This helps make it easier—especially for non-binary, inter*, and trans participants—to share their pronouns. It’s important to us that everyone is addressed correctly.
- We do not tolerate bullying or discrimination of any kind (e.g. sexism, racism, transphobia, ableism, etc.).
- We ask questions about personal identities or experiences of discrimination in a respectful, open, and non-invasive way. We fully respect when someone chooses not to talk about their identity or experiences.
- If we are called out for discriminatory language or behavior, we resist the urge to justify ourselves. Instead, we receive the feedback as an opportunity to reflect and learn.
- We cultivate a culture where mistakes are okay, and where not everyone is expected to be perfect – especially when it comes to things like gender-inclusive language.
- We respect personal boundaries. These can be expressed verbally or through body language. We take care not to cross them and always ask before touching someone.
- We handle other people’s data with care. We always ask before taking or sharing photos or passing on someone’s contact details.
- We are friendly and welcoming, but we do not push for private contact if someone isn’t interested.
How We Respond to Problems:
- If guests do not follow the code of conduct, the organizing team and/or board members will address it and support them in learning from their behavior.
- If you experience a violation of your boundaries, please reach out to the organizing team! We are here for you and will support you in finding a solution.
- In cases of repeated violations of this agreement, the organizing team may exclude individuals from the event. If the behavior does not improve after several warning conversations, it may result in exclusion from all future BiBerlin events if necessary.
