Bi+ historical city walk

As a Berliner, you rarely come here. Why would you? It’s only for tourists who don’t know the history of Berlin. You have seen it all before and know it all. But do we really know the stories of the famous places? No? Then come with us on our walk!

We talk about:

  • Persecution and a bisexual American in Berlin
  • Scandals in the German Empire
  • Even landmarks are worth looking at and how do you annoy an emperor?
  • The It-Girls of the 1920s
  • Cafes, shopping arcades and a special visitor experience
  • Lost books and sometimes statistics are interesting after all
  • Kohl and bisexuality – sounds as strange as Kohl and implementing a proposal from the SED Politburo
  • Bisexual symbolism as peace policy and angry citizens
  • Police celebrities in the Weimar Republic and should §175 really be enforced?

When: Sunday, August 3, starting at 2 p.m.

Meeting point: Memorial to the Persecuted Homosexuals under National Socialism, Ebertstraße, 10785 Berlin

Route: approx. 3.5 km, from the meeting point at the memorial along “Unter den Linden” to Alexanderplatz

Language: the city walk will be guided in German
